The first reason is that I wanted to focus on my self-branding. Keller Williams is a really great company and well-known, but I wanted people to know who I am individually. I wanted to focus on building my own personal brand, rather than relying solely on the company's reputation. Also, here's a tip for new agents out there: choosing to work for a great company is great. They offer excellent training and resources. However, it doesn't necessarily guarantee success in sales. A great company can get a name for themselves, but individual success varies from office to office. My second reason for leaving is that I am bilingual. I was born and raised in Shanghai, so I speak Chinese Mandarin fluently. My goal is to focus on attracting Chinese buyers. Since 2015, Chinese buyers have become the number one real estate buyers/investors in the US. They have spent around 300 billion US dollars in US real estate. I see Philadelphia as a great potential city for attracting Chinese and international buyers, so I wanted to focus on that goal for 2018. Lastly, I chose to work for a Chinese broker because I was lucky enough to find someone who is very knowledgeable and has a decade of experience in real estate.
